Choose-Life License Plates

CHOOSE LIFE LICENSE PLATE

The State of Arizona will create organizational specialty license plates for organizations that make application and meet specific statutory requirements and commits to purchasing at least 200 plates. These license plates cost an additional $25 per year, with the State retaining $8 and $17 being donated to the sponsoring organization (like the Arizona Life Coalition).

The Arizona Life Coalition meets the statutory requirements and made application to License Plate Commission in January 2002. However, on August 28, 2003 the License Plate Commission denied our application for a Choose Life organization specialty license plate. The Commission members would not comment on where or why the application did not meet statutory requirements.

On September 2, 2003 Arizona Life Coalition filed suit against the Arizona License Plate Commission seeking injunctive relief (require the Commission to authorize the Choose Life license plate) in Federal District Court.

When the plates become available you will be required to become a Member of the Arizona Life Coalition. Membership is free, but will require you to affirm your agreement with our Statement of Principles.
